Whereas the Word of God declares in II Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”;

And whereas, the Word of God declares in Isaiah 62:6: “I have set my watchmen upon the walls, who will not hold their peace day and night…”;

And whereas, the Word of God declares in Matthew 11:12: “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force…”;

And whereas, the Word of God declares in Isaiah 9:6: “For unto us a child is born, unto us, a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

And whereas, The Word of God declares in John 17:20-21: “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one...”

We now, therefore, decree this ‘National Prayer for Unity, Healing, Peace, Progress and the Presidency’ for the purpose of praying for the United States of America, its people, and its leadership.

We pray for healing
That all of the hateful words that were spoken during the presidential campaign does not take root and spread.

That our children will not be negatively affected in their emotions or manner of thinking by the turmoil surrounding them.

That all of those who are feeling hopeless will seek the face and will of God and his destiny for their lives. We come against depression, spirits of suicide, devastation, hopelessness, anger, grief, and fear.

We pray for unity
That the Lord will reveal any hidden agendas that seek to exalt itself against his will for unity and oneness in our nation.
That all of the isms – racism, sexism, and classism – will be dissipated by the spirit of love.
That even our partisan representatives – Democrats and Republicans – will find places of agreement as they legislate on behalf of the people.

We pray for peace
That even as we use our right to protest and take righteous stands, our battles will be fought in a spirit of love that will overcome all fear and that the Lord will impart unto us the “peace that passes all understanding.” This includes police respect for the protestors and the protestors’ respect for the police.

That your people will be totally dependent upon your guidance and your divine purpose for their lives and for their destinies and that there will be no cause for worry, shame, guilt, embarrassment or restlessness.

That even as God has allowed America to be armed with a military that is among the most powerful in the world, we pray that our military leaders – along with its commander-in-chief – will make wise judgment on strategy and geography only according to the guidance and will of God.

We also pray for a “peaceful transfer of power” as espoused by the nation’s creed.

We pray for progress
That no matter which way the wind blows, we shall remember your promise over our lives as we walk upright before you - that indeed the “latter shall be greater than the former.”

That regardless of the magnitude of the issues before us and how hopeless it all appears, the end result shall be according to Isaiah 40: 4-5: “Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”

That we will hold fast to the Lord’s promise upon our lives in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
And that we will lean on his word in Proverbs 4:5-6 that implores us to “trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.”

We pray for the Presidency
That we will submit and obey your Word in Romans 13:1 that says “let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

That we will constantly pray against unrighteous leadership and for our God to move on the heart of our President-elect, his cabinet and all three branches of government, according to I Timothy 2:1-2 which says “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

We pray that our President and “We the people” of this nation will remember at all times that the “government shall be upon” the shoulders of our Lord and that our President will turn to Him for all guidance, all decisions, and all actions.

We pray specifically for President Donald Trump - that He will move according to the hand of God. We pray according to Proverbs 21:1, that the king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will.

Finally, we pray for our nation. That as it is under the eyes of the world, we will deal righteously and justly with our friends and our enemies, that “no weapon that’s formed against us shall prosper,” and that America will become a beacon light of God upon the earth because of the “prayers of the righteous” which avail much.
